Privacy Policy for AI Text Styler
Effective Date: April 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the AI Text Styler: Accessible Reader Chrome Extension ("the Extension"), created by Joseph Ben-Simon (JBSL). We believe that privacy is a fundamental right, especially when building tools designed to provide a safe, accessible, and anxiety-free digital environment.
1. Zero Data Collection
The Extension operates entirely locally within your web browser. We do not collect, transmit, store, or monitor any user data. Specifically, this means:
- We do not read, log, or store a single word of your AI chat conversations.
- We do not track your browsing history or web activity.
- We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII).
- We do not use background analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking scripts.
2. Local Storage
To function properly, the Extension must remember your custom accessibility settings (such as your chosen hex colors, typography overrides, and which collapsible menus you have locked). These preferences are saved strictly locally on your own machine using Google Chrome's built-in chrome.storage API. This data never touches our servers because we do not have any servers.
3. Host Permissions
The Extension requests "Host Permissions" for specific AI platforms (like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok). This permission is used exclusively to inject local CSS style tags into the webpage so your custom colors and fonts can be applied to the text on your screen. It is never used to extract or transmit data from those web pages.
4. Changes to this Policy
If we ever make updates to this privacy policy, we will reflect those changes on this page. However, our core foundational commitment—operating 100% locally with zero data collection—will never change.
5. Contact
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback about this privacy policy or how the Extension operates, please reach out via the support links provided on the Chrome Web Store listing.
